Landlords to benefit from the Changing Attitude of Modern Tenants

A recent survey has revealed that the average age of tenants is on the rise.  In 2006, the average age of a tenant was 25 but it is now 28, according to data released by the website Spareroom.

A spokesman for the National Landlords Association said the change could be attributed to the financial difficulties faced by young people wanting to get on the housing ladder.  In addition many people are no longer interested in owning their own home.  With the current economic uncertainties people don't necessarily want to commit to the long-term investment of home ownership.

Rental accommodation provides flexibility for those needing to relocate for many reasons including work, schools and changes in relationship circumstances.  With uncertainties in the housing markets expected to remain for some time to come Landlords should continue to benefit from a strong supply of tenants.
